This flavour of music is mixture of Marly’s African roots from Kenya . Her lyrics are poetic and they reflect true stories from her land. With a blend of vinnie’s music composition and production. we prefer not to place a genre to our music but we can certainly say that hopefully our songs will re-kindle a happy memory or remind you of a life situation.
With Love, Marly & vinnie
Our story
In 2015, Marly Niyambura and vinnie naidu met on the music scene here in Amsterdam , the Netherlands. We played gigs together from jazz/soul/funk/rock/reggae and in 2018 we decided to start an album project together. 6 years on we now have our first release ( That feeling of home) may 2024. Yes we took awhile , but all good things take time. Our volcano lies dormant no more! Every month we will endeavour to release a song until the end of Album or EP.
Hi, I'm Vinnie
At the age of 13, I started to play guitar. My hands grew too big when I hit my late teens, So I switched to bass guitar. In my 20’s I played around the Melbourne Australian club scene with various bands and projects: from playing cover music to original music projects. One of the bands I played in included 2 of my best friends, Leo and Chris who till today are still both my music mentors. In my mid-20’s, I became obsessed with basketball and my bass playing fell badly behind, the band put up with me longer then it was necessary, and inevitably I lost my Job. Still the band was kind enough to employ me as the Sound Guy. And here is where I developed my skills as a sound engineer. I was always fascinated with sound and studied engineering at a young age where I built hi-end speakers and amplifiers. Finally in my 30’s when my injuries from basketball were too much, I came back to musicianship. Today , I have a professional studio here in Amsterdam Holland (earthnotestudios) where we record/compose/mix and master songs for local artist and of cause we make our own music.
Warm regards
vinnie naidu
